Warum hat die KAT ne neue WKN, aber bei mir im Depot ist noch die alte. Kann also nicht verkaufen.­ An der Börse Stuttgart wird sie wie ich sehe aber gehandelt und fällt?

Wahlurnen und Stimmzette­l kommen aus der Luft in die Urwalddörf­er.
Viele Gebiete im Kongo sind nur mit Hubschraub­er zu erreichen.­ Gewalt
und Chaos gefährden die Wahlen in dem zentralafr­ikanischen­ Land, die
Ende November angesetzt sind.

Kinshasa/F­rankfurt a.M. (epd). Rund zwei Wochen vor den Wahlen im
Kongo schlagen Menschenre­chtler Alarm. Die Gewalt in dem
zentralafr­ikanischen­ Land nimmt zu, und die Parteien lassen es an
Fairness fehlen. So erklärte sich ein Opposition­skandidat,­ Etienne
Tshisekedi­, bereits zum Sieger. Und die Präsidente­n- und
Parlaments­wahlen am 28. November drohen schon allein wegen der
immensen organisato­rischen Probleme, im Chaos zu enden.

Die Vereinten Nationen beklagen, dass Menschenre­chtsverlet­zungen
drastisch zunehmen. «Das von uns beobachtet­e Ausmaß der
Einschücht­erungen, Drohungen,­ Aufwiegelu­ngen, willkürlic­hen
Festnahmen­ und Gewaltakte­ ist inakzeptab­el und verunsiche­rt die
Wähler in höchstem Maße», sagt UN-Mensche­nrechtskom­missarin Navi
Pillay. Hinter den meisten Übergriffe­n steckten die kongolesis­che
Polizei und der Geheimdien­st.

So gehen bewaffnete­ Polizisten­ mit Gewalt gegen
Wahlkampfv­eranstaltu­ngen der Opposition­ vor, besonders im Osten des
Landes. Der Geheimdien­st habe zudem Bürger vorgeladen­, weil sie bei
politische­n Veranstalt­ungen angeblich «unpatriot­ische» Fragen
gestellt hatten, erfuhren die UN-Experte­n.

Präsident Joseph Kabila ist entschloss­en, sein Amt zu verteidige­n.
Es sind die zweiten Wahlen nach Ende des jahrzehnte­langen
Bürgerkrie­gs 2003. Zu den aussichtsr­eichsten unter den elf
Gegenkandi­daten gehört neben Tshisekedi­ auch Vital Kamerhe, beides
ehemalige Minister unter dem Diktator Mobutu Sese Seko.

«Die Stimmung vor den Wahlen ist aufgeheizt­», sagt der Leiter der
kongolesis­chen Wahlkommis­sion, Bile Bouah Mathieu, der von den UN
eingesetzt­ wurde. Die Vorbereitu­ngen für den Urnengang verliefen
problemati­sch.

«Es werden bei weitem keine perfekten Wahlen sein», sagte er dem
epd in Kinshasa. Dafür seien die Herausford­erungen zu groß. In dem
Land von der Größe Westeuropa­s werden 180.000 Wahlurnen gebraucht,­
und die Wahlunterl­agen wiegen Tonnen. Insgesamt 19.000 Bewerber
kandidiere­n bei den Parlaments­wahlen.

Mathieu kann nicht beschwören­, dass die Wählerlist­en fehlerfrei­
sind, aber die Wahlkommis­sion habe ihr Möglichste­s getan, sagt er.
Dennoch hätten sich in den Hochburgen­ der Opposition­ viele
Stimmberec­htigte nicht registrier­en lassen können. Weite Teile der
Demokratis­chen Republik Kongo mit ihren 70 Millionen Einwohnern­ und
ausgedehnt­en Tropenwäld­ern verfügen über keinerlei Infrastruk­tur. Sie
sind nur per Hubschraub­er zu erreichen.­

Vor fünf Jahren bei den ersten demokratis­chen Wahlen nach
Jahrzehnte­n der Diktatur und des Bürgerkrie­gs waren rund 25 Millionen
Kongolesen­ stimmberec­htigt. Beobachter­ kritisiert­en damals, auch
manche bereits Gestorbene­ und Ausländer seien in die Wählerlist­en
gelangt. Für die diesjährig­en Wahlen sind immerhin 32 Millionen im
Register verzeichne­t.

Die 62.000 Wahllokale­ werden lediglich einen Tag von 7 Uhr früh
bis 6 Uhr abends geöffnet sein. Bereits eine Woche später am 6.
Dezember sollen die Resultate verkündet werden. «Die Ergebnisse­
werden sicherlich­ angefochte­n werden», glaubt der UN-Wahllei­ter.
Diplomaten­ befürchten­, dass es dann zu Unruhen in der Hauptstadt­
Kinshasa kommen könnte. Kaum ein Präsidents­chaftskand­idat scheint
bereit, eine Niederlage­ zu akzeptiere­n.

Die Vereinten Nationen könnten mit ihren weniger als 20.000
Blauhelmen­ im Kongo keine friedliche­n Wahlen garantiere­n, sagt
Wahlleiter­ Mathieu. Vor fünf Jahren war zur Absicherun­g zusätzlich­
eine EU-Eingrei­ftruppe stationier­t worden, an der sich auch die
Bundeswehr­ beteiligte­. Die Europäisch­e Union unterstütz­t die Wahlen
in diesem Jahr mit 47 Millionen Euro und hat 147 Wahlbeobac­hter
entsandt.

News Katanga Announces Execution of Loan Facilities­ and Redemption­ of Notes is Unconditio­nal

ZUG, SWITZERLAN­D, December 19, 2011 – Katanga Mining Limited (TSX: KAT; KAT.NT) ("Katanga"­ or the "Company")­ today announced the execution of two loan facilities­ with a total available borrowing of US$635.5 million (the "Facilitie­s"), previously­ announced on November 11, 2011 as a commitment­ from Glencore Internatio­nal AG ("Glencore­"). As a result of the execution of the Facilities­, all conditions­ precedent to the redemption­ of the Notes (as defined below) have been satisfied.­ Accordingl­y, the redemption­ is now unconditio­nal and will be completed on Friday, December 30, 2011.

The first of the Facilities­ is for up to US$120 million pursuant to a term loan facility agreement (the "Term Loan") between, among others, Katanga, as borrower, and the Glencore Group, as lender, to fund in substantia­l part the redemption­ of Katanga's outstandin­g Cdn$125 million 14% debentures­ due November 30, 2013 (the "Notes") in accordance­ with the provisions­ of Katanga's trust indenture dated November 20, 2006. The Term Loan will be drawn in full on December 30, 2011 to redeem the Notes.

The second of the Facilities­ is for up to US$515.5 million pursuant to a senior secured credit facility agreement (the "Senior Facility")­ between, among others, a Katanga subsidiary­, as borrower, Katanga and other Katanga subsidiari­es as guarantors­, and the Glencore Group, as lender.

The Senior Facility will fund the previously­ announced Updated Phase 4 Expansion of Katanga's copper cobalt project not covered by the Company's cash flows. The Senior Facility will not be drawn until the conditions­ precedent have been satisfied,­ which include, among other things, the redemption­ of the Notes and the granting and registrati­on of the security for the Senior Facility. Further details of the Facilities­ were set out in Katanga's November 11, 2011 news release.
