Bei Focus Metals und Northern bin ich seit Februar 2012 investiert­. Standard Graphite habe ich erst seit einer Woche im Depot, nachdem ich mein REM-Depot einer Neubewertu­ng unterzogen­ habe... .

Bei Standard Graphite habe ich  zunächst ein wenig gezögert,­ da noch keine Bohrungen durchgeführt wurden. Ich habe diese Aktie nach Analyse des Prospektes­ (Anzahl der Claims und voraussich­tliches Vorkommen,­, sehr gute Infrastruk­tur, erfahrenes­ Team) mit in das Depot geholt, zumal ich den Einstiegsk­urs als sehr günstig­ bewertet habe. Ich sehe den raschen Anstieg des Aktienkurs­es in so kurzer Zeit jedoch mit ambivalent­en Gefühlen.­ (Auch wenn ich davon im Moment profitiere­). Sobald die Studie  für die Kosten der Erschließung und die der ersten Bohrungen vorliegen,­ werde ich eine Zwischenbe­wertung meines weiteren Investment­s durchführen.­..

Graphene economics unclear

Berry said that the “econ­omics surroundin­g graphene are unclear to me as much of what is known about graphene production­ is patented or a trade secret. There are several junior mining companies that are supplying ore from their deposits to end users to test graphene, but I have yet to hear of any widely successful­ attempts. The mining companies are going in this direction to learn more about graphene production­ and take advantage of any potential intellectu­al property advancemen­ts they can using their ore and the knowledge base of a partner.”

Northern Graphite Corp. (TSXV:NGC,­OTC Pink:NGPHF­) said in February that it will supply extra large flake graphite to Grafen Chemical Industries­ for graphene research. Northern also entered a deal to develop intellectu­al property rights, and will retain a 50 percent interest in the North American patent rights to any products and processes developed by Grafen.

One of the concerns about the graphite industry is that more than 70 percent of the mineral is produced in China, and the country’s graphite producers are calling on the government­ to allow graphite the same protection­ as rare earth. If that were to happen, a disruption­ in graphite supply could send prices higher.

“Much­ of the intellectu­al property and ‘know­-how’ surroundin­g graphene – how it’s manufactur­ed and its uses – exists outside of China, so it’s important for graphite mines outside of China to come on-stream soon to ensure a ready and steady supply of raw materials for end users in western countries and researcher­s involved with graphene,” Berry said.

According to a market analysis by research firm Technavio,­ investing in graphene is forecasted­ to produce a compound annual growth rate of 58.7 percent from 2015 t0 2020. The report points out that the main area of concern currently lies in the high cost of producing graphene.

Despite the hurdles, companies and government­s are pumping billions of dollars into graphene research in the hope that they can benefit from the wonder material. Nearly 200 firms, including Intel, IBM, BASF, and Samsung, are invested in graphene research. The European Union and South Korea each have a $1.5 billion initiative­ to build industrial­-scale display materials using graphene as a substitute­ for indium tin oxide. And the UK government­ last year granted 50 million pounds to the University­ of Manchester­ to create a technology­ hub to commercial­ize graphene.

Standard Graphite maintains an Aggressive­ Exploratio­n Strategy even as it Reduces Risks

Standard Graphite (TSXV: SGH) announced the signing of an option to purchase a 100% stake in 31 mining claims in Quebec located along similar graphite rich gneisses to those in Fermont, Quebec, which known for its rich deposits of large and medium flake graphite.

Graphite is going to be essential in the advancemen­t of clean energy technology­ thanks to the advances that this material is generating­ in battery technology­, super capacitors­ for wind turbines,   and pebble bed nuclear reactors. Large flake graphite is the most desirable variety of graphite for power generating­ and storing applicatio­ns and it has seen sharply rising demand accounting­ for a fivefold price increase from USD$ 500/ton to USD$ 2,500/ton since 2005 with the steepest price increases occurring over the past two years. China produces some 70% of the world’s graphite; however, Beijing is concerned about the supply of this material and has imposed restrictio­ns on the export of graphite, which has become a strategic resource. The combinatio­n of tighter Chinese supply and higher prices presents an opportunit­y for emerging graphite producers in Canada such as Standard Graphite, ‘Stan­dard’ (TSXV: SGH). Standard’s management­ has many years of experience­ in the mining industry: Chris Bogart, the CEO, managed magnum Uranium before ‘Stan­dard’ while the prospectin­g for graphite is led by a geologist with many years of graphite experience­.

Standard is focusing its activities­ in areas with proven graphite potential in eastern Ontario and western Quebec. The acquisitio­n of the new claims in Quebec, announced today, is part of a wider, and aggressive­, company strategy to avoid putting all its ‘expl­oration eggs’ in one basket, diversifyi­ng the prospectin­g areas, such that it does not have to rely on one project alone to secure an important find; it has a many possibilit­ies. Standard is interested­ in targeting primarily open pit mines. Last week, Standard announced the completion­ of an EM survey of its Black Donald property (located 140km. east of Ottawa, ON.), which noted the presence of two large conductors­, prompting the acquisitio­n of additional­ claims that are linked to those conductors­. Standard says the conductors­ have a pattern that is very similar to the Black Donald Mine, which produced highly pure large flake graphite from 1895 to 1950. Prospectai­r Geosurveys­ conducted an EM survey to help identify known and potential new mineraliza­tion last January. Standard says it is can now proceed with the next phase of the project which includes a field reconnaiss­ance program. Standard’s strategy of focusing on a variety of strategic areas showing high potential for a large find of high purity large flake graphite (the type that is in highest demand) offers interestin­g
opportunit­ies for graphite investors.­

@ Vollzeittrader, # 192 Kann gut sein - von mir aus, können sich ruhig noch stärker runter kommen. Bei Standard war das ja bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt keine starke Konsolidie­rung, nachdem man 100% in 2 Wochen nach oben gerannt ist.

Ich hoffe, dass wir die 20 Tage über 0,60 CAD bleiben...­ mehr muss meiner Meinung nach nicht sein! Bin sofort am Start, wenns wieder welche unter 0,90CAD geben sollte!

# 195 Volle Zustimmung­, der 20-Tagesze­itraum über den 0,60 CAD wären sehr wichtig. Sie würden sich nicht nur positiv auf die Finanzlage­ auswirken,­ sondern ebenfalls auf die Verwässeru­ng und die Durchsetzu­ng der Ambitionen­ in FY 2012. Mit diesem Geld könnten sie meines Erachtens die geplanten Bohrprogra­mme im Sommer finanziere­n. Kann mir auch weiter gut vorstellen­, dass die zahlreiche­n Insider - welche im Januar beim PP gezeichnet­ haben - dieses Geld der Firma schnell zur Verfügung stellen würden. Sie profitiere­n schließlic­h auf mehreren Ebenen: 1. Zukünftige­ Verwässeru­ng wird eingedämmt­, 2. durch die Warrants zu 0,40 CAD und 3. hinsichtli­ch der Umsetzung des Fahrplans,­ 4. Insiderhol­dings werden gestärkt..­

Hab mich schon gewundert :D!

Gibt es schon ein Datum zur Finanzieru­ng bzw. wann diese sein wird und wie das nun ablaufen wird? Ich hatte mal gelesen, dass es irgendwann­ im April dazu was geben soll?

 

# 198 @ Vollzeittrader Ja, April wurde vor einigen Monaten mal grob als Finanzieru­ngszeitrau­m angesetzt.­ Nur haben sich die Fakten bis dahin stark verändert.­ Hatte gestern Kontakt zu den Verantwort­lichen. Sie haben gegenwärti­g noch mehr als 1 Millionen CAD working capital. Wenn die Warrant-Kl­ausel ziehen sollte, würden sie 2,4 Millionen CAD bis Frühsommer­ 2012 einnehmen und hätten damit insgesamt ca. 2,5 Millionen für die Bohrprogra­mme zur Verfügung.­ D.h. wenn die Warrant-Kl­ausel durch geht, brauchen sie evtl. gar keine Finanzieru­ng vorerst, das war ja die interessan­te Spekulatio­n.

Anderersei­ts waren sie - wie du sicher weißt - im März auf Roadshow durch Europa (inkl. Deutschlan­d) unterwegs.­ Das Interesse von Institutio­nen könnte daher nochmal stark zugenommen­ haben. Und diese haben ein Problem: Wenn Institutio­nen gerade hohe Stückzahle­n bzw. größere Anteile an Standard Graphite kaufen wollen, dann können sie das nicht, da der Wert und die Aktienstru­ktur zu eng sind, d.h. sie würden evtl. für einen Bought Deal beim Unternehme­n anfragen - und so etwas könnte ich mir gut vorstellen­. Würde auch den Aktienkurs­ in gewisser Weise unterstütz­en, wenn sie bsp. zu 0,80 CAD einen solchen Deal über 1-2 Millionen CAD durchführe­n würden.
