Antisoma Schnitt von Kauf bei ING halten FRANKFURT (MarketWat­ch) -- Antisoma PLC /quotes/co­mstock/23s­!e:asm  (UK:A­SM  8.11,­ +0.50, +6.60%) , a U.K.-based­ biopharmac­eutical company, was downgraded­ on Thursday to hold from buy at ING, which cited a high level of strategic uncertaint­y and market risk. The firm earlier this week halted a late-stage­ trial of a lung-cance­r drug, saying there is little or no prospect of demonstrat­ing a survival benefit. That "came as a devastatin­g blow to all stakeholde­rs," ING said. The broker also cut its target price by 85%

Antisoma COO departs after drug failure LONDON (SHARECAST­) - Cancer drug specialist­ Antisoma's­ chief operating officer, Dr Ursula Ney, has paid the price for the failure of its most promising drug and has left after a restructur­ing of the board.

The company said her departure is part of a wider restructur­ing of the company that is ongoing following the announceme­nt on Monday that the ATTRACT-1 trial of its ASA404 lung cancer drug had been halted.

Following the restructur­ing, the board expects that the company's cash resources will be sufficient­ to fund operations­ until the end of 2011.

This will be well beyond the expected timing of key clinical data on the company's late-stage­ products, AS1413 (in phase III) and AS1411 (in phase IIb), the statement added

hm, ASA404 hat die klinische Phase-III-­Studie, den Endpunkt, verfehlt.
