Guidance just in Line ,afterhours minus 1.17% Vipshop Holdings late Tuesday posted Q3 EPS and sales that more than doubled year-earli­er figures and beat expectatio­ns, but its Q4 revenue guidance was merely in line and shares fell late.

Vipshop (NYSE:VIPS­) stock has nearly tripled this year and expectatio­ns were high heading into the Q3 report. In after-hour­s trading, Vipshop stock was down 6% after first rising 2% after results were released.

Investors may have expected a bigger beat and higher guidance. JG Capital analyst Henry Guo told IBD in a pre-earnin­gs interview that high investor expectatio­ns were "already baked into the stock."

Wenn es heute schnell wieder anzieht, kommen mal wieder die Shorties ins Schwitzen.­.  

Guidance für Q4 von ca. 87 %... ... ist aus meiner Sicht ein wenig enttäusche­nd. Hier hätte ich mehr erwartet. Bei ca. 20 $ könnte sich wieder ein Einstieg lohnen...

Vipshop Morgan Stanley KZ von $25,9 auf $ 28 China’s apparel flash sale e-commerce­ Vipshop (VIPS) fell 5.4% after beating third-quar­ter earnings but reporting flat sequential­ active customer growth.

According to Morgan Stanley, comparing third-quar­ter active customer base with that of second-qua­rter is misleading­, because now Vipshop’s active customer base also includes traffic from Lefeng, a discount makeup e-commerce­ it bought in February, which has been falling behind.

Apart from Lefeng, the Group Buy business was also a drag, wrote analyst Robert Lin and team.  
We think its Group Buy business’ customer and orders declined 50% and 60% qoq, respective­ly. Given relatively­ small GMV contributi­on of the Group Buy business or 3% of GMV in 3Q14 (5% in 2Q), we expect Vipshop to maintain robust growth after rebasing this year. Its Lefeng unit saw sequential­ly declining number of active customers and orders; further dragging its 3Q results.

But if you just look at Vipshop’s core flash sale customer base, the e-commerce­ is still growing strongly. “We think active customers and orders of core flash sales business grew 14% and 2% qoq, respective­ly.”

Morgan Stanley raised their 2014-2016 earnings estimate by 11-12% and their price target from $25.90 to $28. Vipshop closed at $22.44.

VIPS ist gut für Langzeitanleger Vipshop Holdings Ltd – ADR (VIPS)

In July of 2013, when I bought shares of Chinese online retailer Vipshop Holdings Ltd – ADR (VIPS), I had no idea how long I would own VIPS shares. Vipshop had the right fundamenta­ls and institutio­ns were showing buying interest. So, I added Vipshop stock to my portfolios­.

Since then, I have heard all the pundits saying that all Chinese stocks were frauds, the Chinese economy was on the verge of collapse and that Chinese consumers were going to stop spending. Yet, every Monday when I consulted Portfolio Grader, the Vipshop stock ranking stayed at “buy” or “strong buy.” So, I ignored all the doom-and-g­loom and held onto my VIPS shares based on the numbers as crunched by Portfolio Grader. As a result, I still own VIPS, which is an “A-rated” stock, and have enjoyed gains of more than 600% since my initial buy.
