“At present, we have over 1.1 billion global members with gross merchandis­e sales surpassing­ over US$100 billion (RM419 billion) in 2016,” revealed Takasawa at the Rakuten Fintech Conference­ 2017 in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Digital money transfer startup Azimo has secured the backing of Rakuten Fintech Fund in a new $15 million financing round to fuel its plans for expansion into Asia.

And for the last three months the growth in the number of customers of the company in Russia amounted to 7.9% (plus 6 million users).
