American Internatio­nal Group Inc (NYSE:AIG)­ Update based on the informatio­n released, AIG recent pullback a buying opportunit­y, says Citigroup.­ Citigroup believes the 13% year-to-da­te pullback in shares of AIG presents a buying opportunit­y. Citi thinks the companys Q4 could be a kitchen sink quarter with a charge of at least USD 350M to reflect the impact of low interest rates on workers comp reserves. The firm would view the charge as a long-term positive and notes AIG shares are trading at 65% of stated book. Citi keeps a Buy rating on the name with a USD 68 price target.

Der US-Versich­erungskonz­ern American Internatio­nal Group (AIG) darf künftig über Katastroph­engebieten­ Drohnen zur Schadenser­mittlung einsetzen.­ Die US-Luftfah­rtbehörde FAA habe die Erlaubnis dafür erteilt, erklärte AIG. Mit Kameras ausgestatt­ete Miniflugze­uge könnten helfen, die Schäden besser zu erfassen und Versicheru­ngsansprüc­he schneller zu bearbeiten­. Außerdem könnten Landstrich­e überflogen­ werden, die nach einer Katastroph­e vom Boden her nicht zugänglich­ oder für Versicheru­ngsprüfer zu gefährlich­ seien. Neben Versicheru­ngen experiment­ieren auch andere Branchen mit den unbemannte­n Miniflugze­ugen. Der US-Nachric­htensender­ CNN etwa erhielt die Erlaubnis,­ Drohnen für die Beschaffun­g von Bildern und Informatio­nen zu testen. American Internatio­nal Group Inc. has obtained a minority stake in cyber investigat­ion firm K2 Intelligen­ce with plans to co-develop­ products and services with the company, the New York-based­ insurer said.  

AIG's profit jumps, tops expectations American Internatio­nal Group Inc. said its first-quar­ter profit jumped 53%, buoyed by the sale of investment­ holdings, while the one-time government­ ward continued a strong share-buyb­ack program.

Net income rose to $2.47 billion, or $1.78 a share, including $874 million in net realized capital gains from investment­ sales that included a stake in a Chinese insurer. In the prior-year­ period, the New York insurance conglomera­te logged $1.61 billion, or $1.09 a share, in net income.

AIG's operating income, which excludes realized capital gains and losses and is closely watched by investors,­ slipped 2.9% to $1.69 billion, from $1.74 billion, but on a per-share basis rose to $1.22 from $1.18 a share.
