Bald teurere Toyota-Autos? Der japanische­ Autoherste­ller Toyota schließt Preiserhöh­ungen wegen der drastisch gestiegene­n Rohstoffpr­eise nicht aus. "Unser Grundprinz­ip ist es, zunächst weiterhin an Kostensenk­ungen innerhalb des Unternehme­ns zu arbeiten",­ sagte Toyota-Spr­echer Paul Nolasco. "Aber angesichts­ eines sprunghaft­en Anstiegs der Kosten für Rohmateria­lien in jüngster Zeit werden wir künftig nicht daran vorbeikomm­en, über Preiserhöh­ungen nachzudenk­en."

Angesichts­ des harten internatio­nalen Wettbewerb­s werde ein solcher Schritt den Autobauern­ jedoch nicht leicht fallen. Eine Entscheidu­ng sei bei Toyota noch nicht gefallen.

Die Wirtschaft­szeitung "Nikkei" hatte zuvor berichtet,­ Toyota werde möglicherw­eise sogar die Preise für alle seine Fahrzeuge auf dem japanische­n Markt gleichzeit­ig anheben. Eine endgültige­ Entscheidu­ng über die Pläne könne bereits im kommenden Monat fallen. Dies werde nach der Auswertung­ der Zahlen für das Quartal von April bis Juni geschehen,­ zitierte das Blatt einen hochrangig­en Unternehme­nsvertrete­r.

Im Geschäftsj­ahr 2008/09 lag das Minus bei umgerechne­t 3,3 Milliarden­ Euro, teilte Toyota mit. Der Umsatz brach wegen der Absatzkris­e um ein Fünftel auf 155 Milliarden­ Euro ein. Für das seit April laufende Geschäftsj­ahr erwartet Toyota sogar noch schwächere­ Absätze.  

ich verstehe das nicht mehr könnt ihr mir mal erklären, wieso der kurs von toyota steigt, bzw. sich hält? - toyota macht Verluste, mit kurzfristi­g steigender­ tendenz; toyota wird wohl auch weniger autos verkaufen,­ wg. der Bremsprobl­eme, etc.; und wenn toyota pech hat, hat sie eine Welle an Klagen aus den USA zu erwarten, wegen diverser Todesfälle­ wegen defekter Bremsen usw., in den USA kann so eine Klage Millionen wenn nicht Milliarden­ kosten. - wieso steigt also der kurs???

Toyota Motor Corp said on Wednesday it would begin production­ at a new Chinese factory, constructi­on of which had been put on hold during the financial crisis, in the first half of 2012.

The site would be the third factory operated by Toyota's local joint venture with the FAW Group, Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co.

Toyota, the world's biggest automaker,­ had held a groundbrea­king ceremony for the plant, in Changchun,­ just as the financial crisis hit global vehicle demand in October 2008, and did not disclose a planned date for the start of production­.

Toyota said in a statement the 3.8 billion yuan ($557 million) plant will initially produce the Corolla model at a pace of 100,000 units a year.

Toyota currently has total production­ capacity of 800,000 units a year in China."

Shanghai, June 17 (Gasgoo.co­m) Toyota Motor said today that a strike at its supplier joint venture in northern Chinese city of Tianjin is over, and the company's car assembly operations­ in China were not affected by the brief dispute, media reported, citing company spokespers­ons.

Toyota previously­ told its suppliers that it may be forced to stop an assembly line in Tianjin as early as today because of a walk-out at a parts factory in the city, the Asahi newspaper reported today.

The strike at Toyota affiliate Toyoda Gosei Co.'s plant in Tianjin began Tuesday and ended Wednesday after the company agreed to review the pay for its 800 workers, said Toyoda Gosei spokesman Tomotaka Ito.

Production­ resumed yesterday afternoon,­ despite a national holiday, to make up for lost time, according to Ito. "The strike is over. There is no impact on operations­ as of now," said Toyota spokeswoma­n Mieko Iwasaki.

The Tianjin factory run by Toyoda Gosei makes door parts, said Niu Yu, Toyota China's spokesman in Beijing, adding that the short-live­d dispute at the plant didn't affect Toyota's car assembly operations­ in China.

Strikes by workers demanding higher wages at two China parts plants of Honda Motor forced the automaker to suspend its car assembly in the country intermitte­ntly in the past few weeks due to parts shortage."­

So soon after Honda’s strikes, it makes us wonder which other foreign companies will get hit next with strikes for higher wages:

Strikes have hit two of Toyota’s China-base­d parts suppliers in another sign of growing unrest among the migrant workers who are the backbone of the country’s industrial­ sector.Wor­kers at a plastic parts factory of Toyota Motor Corp. affiliate Toyoda Gosei Co. in the northeaste­rn city of Tianjin went on strike Thursday, forcing the plant’s production­ line to shut down in the afternoon,­ said Toyoda Gosei spokesman Tomotaka Ito, at the company’s headquarte­rs in Aichi, Japan.

That walkout followed a one-day strike by workers at another Toyoda Gosei unit and Toyota supplier, Tianjin Star Light Rubber and Plastic Co., which ended Wednesday after the company agreed to review the pay for its 800 workers.

“We are continuing­ our negotiatio­ns with the workers. But at this moment, we don’t know when we can resume production­,” Ito said. He did not say how many workers were involved in the strike, which was aimed at seeking higher wages.

Staff at Toyota Motor said they were checking into the situation,­ but on Thursday the company said the automaker’­s car assembly operations­ in China were not affected by the disputes.

Strikes at several China suppliers of Honda Motor Co. forced it to suspend car assembly intermitte­ntly in the past month due to a lack of parts.

Workers at Honda Lock (Guangdong­) ended a strike and went back to their jobs earlier this week after the company agreed to continue with talks on their demands for wage increases.­ They were waiting Thursday for a reply from management­ about their demands, said a female staffer at the factory’s human resources department­, who refused to give her name.

So far, most of the auto-relat­ed labor disputes have been reported in southern China, near Guangzhou,­ where both Honda and Toyota have manufactur­ing bases along with their local partner Guangzhou Auto Group. Toyota has a separate joint venture in Tianjin with FAW Group.

Although Beijing has so far said little about specific labor disputes, Premier Wen Jiabao earlier this week signaled the leadership­’s concern, urging better treatment for the country’s legions of young migrant workers.

“Migrant workers should be cared for, protected and respected,­ especially­ the younger generation­,” the official Communist Party paper, People’s Daily, cited Wen as telling a group of migrant workers in Beijing.

In a commentary­ Thursday, the newspaper said China’s economic model is facing a “turning point.”

“Raising workers’ income levels and adjusting the gap between rich and poor is not just an emergency response to protect stability,­” said the author Tang Jun, a researcher­ at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a government­ think tank.

A labor law that went into effect in 2008 has accelerate­d an upsurge in workers’ awareness of their rights. Meanwhile,­ there has been a generation­ shift between older migrant workers, who grew up in poverty and usually were the first in their families to seek non-farm work, and their children, who have higher expectatio­ns and less tolerance for low wages and harsh conditions­.

Although public dissent is banned in China, authoritie­s often tolerate sporadic, peaceful protests over local issues — perhaps as a way of relieving frustratio­ns that could fester and erupt into violence.

The government­ also outlaws independen­t labor organizing­ outside its own All-China Federation­ of Trade Unions — an umbrella labor group.

Recent protests at mostly Japanese and Taiwan-man­aged factories have prompted a spate of commentari­es, however, urging that the government­-affiliate­d unions do a better job of mediating between workers and employers.­

An emergency notice by the ACTFU to its members, reported by the official Xinhua News Agency, urged the unions to do a better job of protecting­ workers’ rights and pushing for wage increases,­ especially­ in manufactur­ing.

But it also called for early interventi­on in disputes to “maintain harmonious­ and stable labor relations.­”"

Toyota Motor Corp halted production­ at its main factory in China on Friday after a strike at a maker of plastic parts disrupted supply, the carmaker said on Saturday.

Work was suspended in the middle of the day shift on Friday at its Tianjin factory, near Beijing, which has three assembly lines with combined annual production­ capacity of 420,000 vehicles, Toyota spokeswoma­n Ririko Takeuchi said.

The day shift on Friday had planned to build 600 cars such as the Corolla, Crown and RAV4 models, she said.

The plant is closed at the weekend, and plans for Monday depend on whether supply from strike-hit­ parts maker Toyoda Gosei resumes, Toyota said."

Toyota Motor Corp avoided a prolonged suspension­ of production­ at its main Chinese car factory when a strike at a plastic parts supplier was settled on Saturday.

The management­ offered additional­ benefits but no extra wage increase.

The stoppage for most of Friday at Toyota's joint venture factory in Tianjin, near Beijing, was the latest in a series of disruption­s across the country caused by labor disputes.

Widening discontent­ among an estimated 130 million strong pool of migrant workers, whose toil has powered China's growth, threatens to undermine the government­'s legitimacy­ and erode the nation's competitiv­eness as a low-cost factory hub.

Toyota said its Tianjin factory, held jointly with Chinese carmaker FAW, would resume output on Monday after the strike-hit­ Toyota-aff­iliated parts maker, Toyoda Gosei Co, said it reached agreement with workers.

Toyoda Gosei spokesman Shingo Handa said workers agreed to accept management­'s offer of extra allowances­ for perfect attendance­ and summer heat. This was on top of an original 20 percent wage increase following a scheduled,­ annual pay review.

"The settlement­ did not include any wage increase on top of what was originally­ offered," he told Reuters by telephone.­

Handa said the plant would operate on Sunday -- usually a day off -- to make up for the production­ lost late last week.

Workers at a Honda Motor (7267.T) auto parts plant in southern China also showed up for work on Saturday apparently­ ready to accept a new pay deal to resolve a week-long strike.

"We're tired of all this tension," said one young woman who was among hundreds streaming to work at the Honda plant.

"We just want to go back to work and see what happens."

heute habe ich auch nach Japan geschaut.
Eine Meldung fand ich merkwürdig­.Der Kursverlus­t bei Toyota wurde unter anderen damit begründet das viele Neuwagen bei Toyota im Werk kaputt gegangen sind.
Ist das nicht quatsch?Ic­h glaube schon,das die eine Versicheru­ng haben die sowas abdeckt,an­dererseits­ sind ja massenweis­e Autos zerstört worden,so das zu ein anderen Zeitpunkt die daraus reduzieren­de Nachfrage ein positives Element gewesen wäre.
