of CNG Tanks [Jan 8, 2014]
LAKE FOREST, Calif., January 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. (QTWW), a global leader in natural gas storage systems, integration and vehicle system technologies, today announced that it has been granted approval of its Type-IV Q-Lite® CNG tank technology, pursuant to United Nations ECE Regulation No. 110. This approval allows a certain Quantum tank family to be sold into United Nations countries around the world.
This approval will allow Quantum to bring its highly successful large diameter CNG tank technology to Europe and Asia and will enable European and Asian trucking firms to realize the substantial operating cost reductions that many US fleets have demonstrated through the use of CNG as a transportation fuel.

These systems are coupled with ZHRO's revolutionary natural gas injection/engine conversion system and are being used as part of a pre-production test fleet at ZHRO and will be used for both on-road testing on heavy duty trucks as well as bench testing.

Quantum recently designed, engineered, and introduced this high capacity, light-weight, CNG storage system for the fast growing natural gas truck retro-fit, dealer up fit and OEM market segments. This new BOC module uses Quantum's industry leading Q-lite® tank technology and stores 123 DGE (Diesel Gallon Equivalent) of fuel. It is approximately 1,000 lbs lighter than competitive products; which translates into higher payload capacity for the truck owner.
Installation of the BOC module with additional Quantum frame rail mounted CNG modules can achieve a total capacity of up to 216 DGE, which can provide up to 900 miles total range. The BOC module can also be used independently, offering sufficient range for many distribution applications. This module offers the lowest price per DGE in the industry and allows open frame rail space for accessories.

(NASDAQ: QTWW), a global leader in natural gas storage systems, integration and vehicle system technologies, will be showcasing its industry leading Q-Lite compressed natural gas family of tank products, including its innovative light-weight large diameter storage vessels for heavy duty truck applications, newly released neck-mounted tank products, and advanced sub-system designs and products for a multitude of vehicle applications, at the Alternative Clean Transportation Expo in Long Beach, CA from May 6th to May 8th.
Quantum will display an array of complete fuel system modules that it has introduced over the past twelve months to provide the industry with fully integrated storage solutions. Examples of these systems will include a complete medium duty CNG storage module displayed on a Ryder delivery fleet vehicle along with large diameter system designs for several transportation platforms.
