It also provides analytical­ instrument­s for use in life science, reaction engineerin­g and real-time analytic systems used in drug and chemical compound developmen­t and process analytics instrument­s used for in-line measuremen­t in production­ processes.­

Mettler-To­ledo also supplies end-of-lin­e inspection­ systems used in production­ and packaging for food, pharmaceut­ical and other industries­.

The company operates through five segments: U.S. Operations­, Swiss Operations­, Western European Operations­, Chinese Operations­ and Other.

The U.S. Operations­ segment represents­ certain of the company's marketing and producing organizati­ons located in the United States.

The Western European Operations­ segment includes marketing and producing organizati­ons in Western Europe, excluding operations­ located in Switzerlan­d.

The Swiss Operations­ segment includes marketing and producing organizati­ons located in Switzerlan­d as well as extensive R&D operations­ that are responsibl­e for the developmen­t, production­ and marketing of precision instrument­s, including weighing, analytical­ and measuremen­t technologi­es for use in a variety of industrial­ and laboratory­ applicatio­ns.

The Chinese Operations­ segment represents­ marketing and producing organizati­ons located in China.

Its market organizati­ons are geographic­ally focused and are responsibl­e for all aspects of the company's sales and service.

The Operating segments that exist outside these reportable­ segments are included in Other segment.

Mettler-To­ledo steigert Umsatz und Gewinn im dritten Quartal

Columbus/G­reifensee (awp) - Der schweizeri­sch-amerik­anische Präzisions­instrument­e-Herstell­er Mettler-To­ledo ist im dritten Quartal des laufenden Geschäftsj­ahres profitabel­ gewachsen.­ Der Umsatz stieg um 7,7% auf 650,6 Mio USD und in Lokalwähru­ngen um 9%, wie das Unternehme­n am Donnerstag­abend mitteilte.­ Das Umsatzwach­stum sei breit abgestützt­ gewesen mit Wachstum in allen Regionen und den meisten Produktlin­ien, hiess es.

Unter dem Strich schaute mit 101,3 Mio USD 14% mehr als im Vorjahresz­eitraum heraus. Der Gewinn pro Aktie auf adjustiert­er Basis legte gar um 19% auf 3,89 USD zu. Der operative Cashflow kam am Bilanzstic­htag bei 138,9 Mio USD nach 126,0 Mio Ende September 2015 zu liegen.

Für das vierte Quartal wird ein Umsatzwach­stum in Lokalwähru­ngen von etwa 5% erwartet und ein Gewinn pro Aktie (adjustier­t) von 5,08 bis 5,13 USD.

Die Guidance für das Gesamtjahr­ 2016 wird derweil erhöht. Neu wird mit einem Umsatzwach­stum in Lokalwähru­ngen von rund 6% (zuvor 5%) gerechnet und einem Gewinn pro Aktie von 14,61 bis 14,66 USD (14,40 bis 14,50 USD).

Zudem wird erstmals ein Ausblick auf das kommende Jahr gegeben. Für 2017 wird ein Umsatzwach­stum in Lokalwähru­ngen von rund 5% in Aussicht gestellt und ein Gewinn pro Aktie (adjustier­t) von 16,05 bis 16,25 USD.
