revenue rose 30.9 pct on yr Huaneng Group, the parent of Huaneng Power Internatio­nal, said its revenue last year was 151.3 bln yuan, a rise of 30.9 pct from 2007. The company, China's top power producer, said it generated 364.5 bln kWh of electricit­y in 2008, up 11.5 pct year-on-ye­ar. Coal output grew 28.6 pct to 21.88 mln tons in 2008, it said. The company posted a loss in 2008, its first, due to rising coal prices and the state cap on electricit­y prices, said Cao Peixi, Huaneng's general manager. By the end of 2008, the company's installed power capacity stood at 85.86 mln kilowatts,­ up 19.9 pct year-on-ye­ar, while annual coal capacity reached 27.24 mln tons.
